ביקורת נוסח וסטמטולוגיה

איתי קגן הוביל דיון על האסכולות השונות בביקורת הנוסח - ביקורת קלאסית, סטמטולוגיה ופילולוגיה חדשה, שלמעשה מתנגדת לביקורת נוסח בצורתה המסורתית. הוא שיתף דוגמה ממחקריו שבה הוא הדגים באמצעות ביקורת נוסח המקרא ומגילות ים המלח כיצד השילוב של סטמטולוגיה עם פילולוגיה מטריאלית יכולים להניב שאלות מחודדות יותר ותשובות מפתיעות להן.

Textual Criticism and Stemmatology

Itai Kagan led a discussion on the different schools of textual criticism - classical criticism, stemmatology and new philology, which actually opposes textual criticism in its traditional form. He shared an example from his research in which he demonstrated through textual criticism of the Hebrew Bible and the Dead Sea scrolls how the combination of stemmatology and material philology can yield sharper questions and surprising answers to them.
