מפגש שישי- 14.03.23

 

מפגש בנושא פילולוגיה מטריאלית:

במפגש השישי דנו ב'פילולוגיה מטריאלית', המכונה גם 'פילולוגיה חדשה', אשר שמה דגש על האובייקט הטקסטואלי: אופן ייצורו, שימושו והקהילה האנושית העומדת מאחוריו. מרדכי וינטרוב הנחה את המפגש, וסיפר על מחקריו החלוציים על ספרי תורה ואופן כתיבתם, וכן שיתף את חברי הקבוצה בהישגי חקר הקודיקולוגיה העברית, שהוא המתקדם מסוגו בעולם. כמו כן, דנו בביקורת של הפילולוגיה 'החדשה' על זו 'הישנה', ועל דרכים שבהן המחקר המטריאלי של טקסטים יכול להעשיר ולהשלים את המחקר הטקסטואלי הקלאסי, בין אם בפיתוח מודלים תיאורטיים לאופן היצירה וההשתנות של טקסטים, ובין אם בפיתוח מודעות לחשיבות מאפיינים מטריאליים של כתבי היד הנחקרים לשם הבנת ההיסטוריה של הטקסט.

 

Sixth session - Material Philology

In the sixth meeting we discussed 'Material Philology', also known as 'New Philology', which emphasizes the textual object: the way it is produced and used and the human community behind it. Mordechai Vaintrob led the session, and related his pioneering research on Torah scrolls and how they were written, and also shared with the group members the achievements of Hebrew Codicology research, which is the most advanced of its kind in the world. We also discussed the criticism of the 'new' philology against the 'old' one, as well as ways in which the material study of texts can enrich and complement classical textual study: either in the development of theoretical models for the ways texts are created and changed, or in the development of awareness of the importance of material characteristics of the studies manuscripts in order to understand the history of the text.
