פילולוגיה וריאליה

הדס שמבדל, שיש לה הכשרה פילולוגית וארכיאולוגית כאחד, שיתפו אותנו במחקריה על הריאליה של ארץ ישראל בימי המשנה. היא הדגימה כיצד שילוב מדוקדק של ניתוח טקסטואלי ומחקר ארכאולוגי בכוחם לספק זיהויים והבנה טובה יותר של שמות כלים, מבנים ויתר העולם החומרי המוזכר בטקסטים עתיקים. 

 

Philology and Material Culture

Hadas Shambadel, who has both philological and archeological training, shared with us her research on the material reality of the Land of Israel during Mishna times. She demonstrated how a careful combination of textual analysis and archaeological research can provide identifications and a better understanding of names of objects, structures and other aspects of the material world mentioned in ancient texts.
