המפגש התקיים בערב נר ראשון של חנוכה, ועסק בחיבור הארמי היהודי הקצר "מגילת אנטיוכוס" המספר על מרד המקבים וייסוד חג החנוכה. לקראת המפגש, המשתתפים קראו את המגילה לפי שני ענפי הנוסח שלה – התימני והמערבי – וכן עיינו במבוא של מנחם צבי קדרי ובהערכה ההיסטורית של אריה כשר, שני המאמרים המייצגים את המחנות הניצים בהערכת מקור המגילה וזמנה.

בחצי הראשון של המפגש, איתי קגן הציג ממחקריו על המגילה, והראה מדוע לדעתו המחקר הקודם שלה שגוי בהערכת הנוסח שלו, ובשל כך רוב המסקנות של החוקרים דורשות עיון מחדש. בחצי השני של המפגש הקבוצה קראה בדקדקנות את חלקה הראשון של המגילה, בליווי עיונים בנוסח, בלשון ובפרזיולוגיה.

The meeting took place on the eve of the first day Hanukkah and dealt with the short Jewish-Aramaic composition Megillat Antiochus which relates the story of the Maccabean revolt and the establishment of the festival of Hanukkah. The participants read the text in advance according to its two textual branches – the Yemenite and the Western – as well as the introduction of Menachem Zvi Kaddari and the historical assessment of Aryeh Kasher, the two articles that constitute the two opposing camps in the assessment of the scroll's origin and date.

In the first half of the session, Itai Kagan presented results from his research on the scroll, and showed why, in his view, previous scholarship has erred in its textual assessment, resulting in a need for a revision of most conclusions of previous scholars. In the second half, the participants meticulously read the first part of the text, accompanied with textual, linguistic, and phraseological inquiries.
