במפגש זה קראנו כמה סיפורים מן התלמוד הירושלמי על חסידים המסוגלים בתפילתם להוריד גשמים (מסכת תענית פרק א, הלכה ד; דפוס ונציה: דף סד, עמ' ב–ג). מיקוד הדיון היה בסיפור על החסיד מכפר אימי. מנחה המפגש היה ד"ר עברי בוניס, החוקר ארמית ולשון חכמים בפרט מהיבטים תחביריים. עיקרו של המפגש היה קריאה צמודה של הטקסט, במטרה לשים לב למאפיינים הייחודיים לניב הגלילי מצד ההגה, הצורות והתחביר. בנוסף, הקבוצה דנה בנוסחת הברכה "אישר" המשמשת בסיפור, במקבילותיה "אישר חילך" ו"יישר כוחך" בספרות חז"ל ובאזכורה כברכה מקובלת לעובדים בשדות בפירוש ישועדד איש מרב לפשיטתא של תהלים.

Tenth Session (17.6.2021): Stories of Pious Men who Bring Down Rain from the Talmud Yerushalmi

In this session who read a few stories from the Talmud Yershalmi about pious men who were able to bring down rain through their prayers (Tractate Ta'anit 1:4, Venice Print: 64b-c). The focus of discussion was the story of the pious man from Kefar Immi. The session was headed by Dr. Ivri Bunis, who researches Aramaic and Rabbinic Hebrew, especially from syntactical perspectives. The lion's share of the session was devoted to a close reading of the text, pointing out the special phonological, morphological, and syntactic characterizations of the Galilean dialect. Additionally, the group discussed the greeting formula ˀyšr (אישר) used in the text, its variants ˀyšr ḥylk (אישר חילך) and yšr kwḥk (ישר כוחך) in rabbinic literature and its mention as a popular greeting for fieldworkers in Ishoˁdad of Merv's commentary on the Peshitta Psalter.
