This chapter was more theory laden and we stumbled through some of the more convoluted of Freud's psychoanalytic concepts - in particular the drives towards 'Eros' and towards 'Death'. We discussed for a while how much this idea reflected our own experience of ourselves and our lives. The consensus was that placing the dichotomy in such stark terms is not a completely accurate representation of the multifaceted nature of our needs, wants and desires.
