The world is getting hotter. Climate change is causing disruptions in rainfall patterns. World populations are rising rapidly, putting additional strain on freshwater resources and food production capacity. As all of these changes occur, it is critical that we increase our understanding of dryland environments and the issues facing the people who live in them.
The aim of our chevruta group is to bring together PhD students from many disciplines, whose research is united by a common focus on issues of soil, water, and energy in drylands. Through our group we intend to facilitate a multidisciplinary discussion and a platform for each of us to share and learn about the interactions between our respective research topics. We hope that our group will become a forum for feedback and generating new ideas and focus. PhD researchers from across the university whose work is in anyway connected to drylands are invited to join our discussions.
