תיאור הקבוצה

מטרת קבוצת החברותא היא לעודד שיח אקדמי בינתחומי המתמקד בתקשורת חזותית (תקש״ח) ובמקום שהיא תופסת במרחב הציבורי. המונח תקש״ח מתייחס לכלל המופעים הגרפיים העושים שימוש באמצעי מבע חזותיים לרבות צבע, קו צורה וכתם, דימוי וטיפוגרפיה במדיה שונים.

במסגרת הקבוצה נדון בשאלה כיצד תקש״ח במרחב הציבורי מבנה תפישות חברתיות או מערערת עליהן. כיצד מונצחות אידיאולוגיות באמצעים גרפיים, המצויים במרחב הציבורי. יחד ננסה לקבוע כיצד משפיעה תקש״ח על הדרך שבה אנו קולטים/ות אינפורמציה על העולם ועל עצמנו וכן כיצד האופן בו אנו מתנהלים ומתנהלות במרחב הציבורי מושפע ממופעים חזותיים.

המפגשים יתקיימו פעם בחודש ויוקדשו לקריאה משותפת של טקסטים מרכזיים, תוך התמקדות בסוגיות תאורטיות ומתודולוגיות, כמו גם להצגת מחקרים של חברי/חברות הקבוצה כולל דיון ומשוב. בהתאם לפעילות הקבוצה, תבחן אפשרות יציאה לסיור לימודי, וכן קיום יום עיון/ מושב בכנס בנושא תקשורת חזותית במרחב הציבורי. תכנית המפגשים תגובש בשיתוף עם המשתתפים והמשתתפות. המפגשים ישמשו בסיס לתמיכה הדדית לחברי/חברות הקבוצה, הן בהיבט האינטלקטואלי והן בהיבט הבינאישי.

הקבוצה פתוחה בפני תלמידי ותלמידות תארים מתקדמים, ממוסדות אקדמיים שונים בארץ ובחו״ל.

Visual Communication in Public Spaces (Onna Segev – Communication and Journalism)

The aim of this group is to promote academic discourse focusing on visual communication (VC) and the role it plays in public spaces. Visual communication refers to visual artifacts formed by visual expressions, e.g., colors, graphic shapes and lines, images, and typography in various media.

Within the framework of the group, we will discuss how VC constructs cultural conceptions or rather contests them, and how ideologies are perpetuated within visuals that are scattered in the streets. Further, we shall attempt to determine how VC affects the way we gain knowledge about our surroundings, about ourselves, and how it dictates the way we conduct ourselves in public spaces.

The group will meet once a month. Meetings will include group discussions, group readings of key texts, focusing on theoretical and methodological issues. Members of the group will be invited to share their academic work and get feedback. If possible, the group will conduct a study tour and hopefully have a panel/conference on the subject of VC in public spaces. The meeting plan will be determined in collaboration with group members. The meetings will be dedicated to mutual support, both intellectually and emotionally.

The group is open to graduate students and PhD candidates from any academic institution in Israel and abroad.
