Title: Dynamical decoupling and magnetic sensing with a single qubit

Abstract:

Solid-state qubits, such as the nitrogen-vacancy (NV) center in diamond, hold promise for quantum information processing and magnetic field sensing. In recent research, a Hahn-Ramsey scheme was proposed to enhance the coherence of spin phase oscillations in single NV centers. By applying radiofrequency (RF) pulses with variable detuning, this scheme improves visibility and sensitivity to DC magnetic fields. Additionally, single-spin qubits have been used to probe spinning fields induced by light, demonstrating effective magnetic sensing at room temperature

Discussion:

Yachel has given an introduction to the field of NV-centers in diamonds and their potential use as quantum bits. While other members of the group address the magnetization as ensemble of spins thereby classically, it was very horizon opening seeing alternative uses when you go into the quantum limit.
