מפגש שני- 23.05.23
The second meeting was devoted to reading from the Yoginīhṛdaya, a Sanskrit late-tantric treatise, and discussing different sects of Hindu Tantra, guided by Shani Goldfrad. We began with an introduction to the tantric tradition, its origins, and the main three phases of its reformation throughout the centuries. Shani introduced the group to the worldview and cosmology according to the tantric tradition and practice; we talked about the concept of non-dualism, the deities, the Srī Cakra and its worship, the metaphysical aspects of language, and so on. Next, we discussed the practitioners and the state of pure consciousness attained through the practice. We read together translated stanzas from the third chapter of the treatise and their commentary. We raised questions and thoughts and had a fruitful discussion about the intersections of this text and practice with other fields of study of the group members.
