Her Meiron pilgrimage

Participants: Shani Goldfrad, Tal Nahari, Raya Cohen, Yael Leokumovich, Beatrice Baragli, Linus Ubl, Tamar Ben Shlomo This meeting was dedicated to the pilgrimage of Har Meiron. Raya presented her field work, including historical background, religious motivation, conflicts, and approaches within her work. We discussed the impact of nature, the liminality of the ritual and pilgrimage, popular and old traditional activities, and their clash with the institutionalized and supervised pilgrimage, which present the “right ritual.” To conclude, we held a short discussion to summarize our work during this semester.
