תיאור הקבוצה

נושאי הליבה בהם עוסקת הפילוסופיה הפוליטית – נושאים כמו חירות, שוויון, ציות, סמכות וצדק – נמצאים ברקע של מרבית הסוגיות האקטואליות שמככבות בכותרות העיתונים. לימוד של סוגיות אקטואליות היא הזדמנות לצלול ולהעמיק את ההיכרות עם היסודות הרעיוניים של התחום. מטרת הקבוצה היא לאפשר העמקה והיכרות רחבה עם היסודות הרעיוניים של הפילוסופיה הפוליטית וזאת על ידי עיון פילוסופי באירועי השעה. בדרך זו, ההתבוננות באירועי השעה מאפשרת לשמור את הפילוסופיה הפוליטית והעשייה אקדמית רלוונטיים לסוגיות בוערות, אך בד בבד, לקדם את הבנתנו את סוגיות אלה. בבסיס כל פגישה תעמוד שאלה פילוסופית על אודות עניין אקטואלי זה או אחר: מה הבעיה בשחיתות פוליטית? מהו פופוליזם והאם הוא רע? ועוד. השאלות יבחרו במשותף לאור תחומי המחקר והעניין של המשתתפים ולאור ההזדמנויות שהמציאות הפוליטית והחברתית תזמן. הדיון ייסוב סביב שאלות אלה ויסתייע בחומר קריאה פילוסופי רלוונטי. הקבוצה תיפגש אחת לשלושה שבועות למפגש של כשעה וחצי בכל פעם. בשאיפה, היא תפגיש יחדיו תלמידי מחקר העוסקים בפילוסופיה פוליטית ממסגרות אקדמיות שונות – פילוסופיה, מדע המדינה, משפטים, סוציולוגיה ועוד.

Philosophical inquires in current political affairs

The basic concepts of political philosophy - Freedom, Equality, political obligation, political authority, and justice – are at the background of most current political affairs. Thus, thoroughly examining the nature and meaning of current political affairs may offer an interesting opportunity to deepen our understanding of the basic political philosophy concepts. Examining current affairs, on the one hand, will emphasize the relevance of political philosophy to our day-to-day lives, while simultaneously shedding new light on the nature of the issues that will be examined. Each meeting will revolve around one contemporary, relevant issue: What is the problem with political corruption? What is Populism, and is it necessarily negative? And so forth. The issues examined will be chosen by the group according to the research and general interest of the participants, and the developments of our political reality. Each meeting will be accompanied by relevant reading materials. The group will meet once every three weeks for a one-and-a-half-hour long meeting. We wish that the group would be a hub for a philosophically informed discussion of current affairs and invite PhD students from any discipline (Philosophy, Political Science, Sociology, Law, and more) to participate.
