תיאור הקבוצה

חושבים שהנושא של מסע בזמן הוא מעניין? יצא לכם לדמיין את עצמכם בעבר – אם בצפייה במאורע היסטורי, או בהיסטוריה הפרטית שלכם, ולחשוב כיצד הייתם נוהגים? דוקטורנטיות או דוקטורנטים באוניברסיטה העברית? אם עניתם בחיוב לשלושת השאלות לעיל, אני רוצה להזמין אתכם לקחת חלק בקבוצת דיון של "לימוד בחברותא" בנושא מסע בזמן. בעוד מסע בזמן אינו אפשרי (עדין), ממד הזמן והמסע המנטלי של בני-אדם לעבר ולעתיד רלוונטי למגוון סוגיות.

למשל, בשיח הפוליטי העכשווי – איזו עמדה תיווכח להיות "בצד הנכון של ההיסטוריה", בעוד מאות שנים? האם יש לכך השפעה על ההחלטות בהווה? ברמה הפיזיולוגית או הפיזיקלית –­ האם יש גבולות לחדשנות האנושית? האם יש לאתגר את גבולות הדיסציפלינות השונות, או לקבלן? מה המשמעות של כך למחקר באקדמיה?

מטרת הקבוצה היא עידוד התדיינות אינטרדיסציפלינרית בנושא, וכן הרחבת הדעת והפרספקטיבות של חברותיה וחבריה, תוך קריאת פריטי קריאה ממגוון תחומים אקדמאיים. הקבוצה תנהל עשרה מפגשים לאורך השנה באמצעות Zoom, שיתקיימו באנגלית.

Time Travel – is it Science Fiction, or-? (Inbar Pincu - International Relations)

Do you find the idea of Time Travel intriguing? Have you ever pictured yourself in days past – either watching a historical event taking place or from your own personal history – and wondered how you would engage with it? Are you a PhD student at the Hebrew University?

If your answer to all of these questions was positive, you are welcome to join our Time Travel study group – which would have 10 Meetings via Zoom and in English.

While Time Travel is not (yet) possible, it is relevant to a variety of issues.

For example, from the physiological or physical aspects – are there limits to human innovation and ingenuity? Should the boundaries of academic disciplines be tested or accepted? What does it mean for academic research going forwards? And for politics and the current political discourse – which stance would prove to be in "the right side of history," hundreds of years from now? Does it affect people's current decisions?

This study group aims to encourage interdisciplinary discussion regarding the subject and broaden the horizons of its members while reading articles from a range of academic disciplines and sharing different perspectives on the issue.
